In my first 30 days as a Principal in VC, I spoke to 30 female founders.
Why: In 2020, even less funding went to female founders. While many VCs speculate there’s a pipeline problem, I strongly disagree.
How: While historically VCs may have ignored most cold emails, I partnered with FLIK to make myself more accessible to their community of female founders. What started as an Informal Office Hours, quickly became the opportunity to offer female founders across a wide range of industries strategic advice & actionable feedback as they gear up for the next phase of their startups’ growth.
Special thanks to FLIK for offering a platform to scale up this series so quickly.
Without further ado, I am thrilled to announce the launch of my blog series, Get Acquainted.
Who: Get Acquainted is a blog series highlighting the exceptional work of female founders across a wide spectrum of industries. These female founders hailed from all over the US & Canada, and all are building disruptive models across B2B & B2C.
What: This blog series is meant to provide tips, feedback, and advice for female founders, who may be building in silos. I want these women to know there’s a community of like-minded women & countless resources to help them scale their businesses forward.
Here’s 4 key learning from this interview series:
- An overwhelming majority of women, even in the earliest days of their entrepreneurship journeys, are already concerned about fundraising.
- The majority of women are participating in multiple founder bootcamps & accelerator programs as a way to prepare for the fundraising route. They’re excited about investors who can bring more to the table than just a check.
- Several of these women have found unique hacks into building up demand well before the launch of their products, and they’ve connected directly with users to incorporate feedback into all aspects of the product journey.
- For most of these women, this is the first time a Principal in VC made themselves accessible for advice & feedback and listened to each of their stories.
I have learned a great deal throughout this interview series, and I’m sure you will too!
When: Each Thursday, additional posts will go live covering all aspects of Fundraising, Go-To-Market Strategy, Product Roadmap, and much much more.
